Sushi Burritos + Poke Bowls

*{I wrote this post about my visit to a restaurant, that unfortunately closed it’s doors after 6 months. Instead of deleting this post, I want to honor them for their delicious food & hospitality. Wishing them the best of luck in their next endeavor!}

I love sushi & I love burritos. No secret there! When I found out there was a restaurant serving sushi burritos in Dallas, I had to go check them out. Mamasan House of Poke served poke bowls, sushi burritos and amazing street food. Inspired by the sushi burritos in California, Mamasan brought a fresh take on the concept with beyond raw protein options. If you’re not a fan of raw meat/seafood in your poke bowl or sushi, then you could have it cooked. The menu also offered gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. This place was for everyone. I tried several gluten-free items on the menu and it was nice to have so many options to choose from.

Sushi Burrito: California Crab (GF)
Crab, avocado, cucumber, arugula, wasabi mayo, furikake and spicy mayo. It was crunchy, fresh, and the perfect amount of crab. I was very impressed by the crab to rice ratio. This burrito was stuffed and then I was stuffed after it was over. Haha
Street Food: Chicken on a stick (GF)
Had the perfect char & tender on the inside. Pair it with teriyaki or ponzu sauce.
Rice Bowl: Miso Sake Salmon (GF)
Salmon glazed with sweet chili lime sauce, shitake mushrooms, pea shoots, arugula and mangos. I chose to make this bowl a salad, by skipping the rice. The salmon was cooked to perfection. So juicy! It was my fav part of the bowl. I ate the mangos at the very end as a dessert. I’m not a fan of fruit mixed with savory, but as a dessert the mangos were so fresh & plump. Perfect ending to a delicious lunch!
